GDP per capita (PPP) in Central Asia and Caucasian countries |TOP 10 Channel

Central Asia and the Caucasus include countries of the former Soviet Union as follows: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. After independence, these countries transformed their economies from central planning to a market economy. Some countries transitioned successfully, with their economies growing rapidly while others faced many challenges in raising people's incomes.
Central Asia and the Caucasus countries have rich resources, especially oil and gas. Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan enjoy the highest per capita income in the region, while incomes of inhabitants in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are still low.
