Get-On-Top-Of Low Power Systems - 10 December 2019
Description
Designing systems with a low energy footprint is becoming increasingly important. Applications for low-power systems range from mobile devices powered from batteries to energy efficient household appliances and datacenters. A key driver is the upcoming IoT era where a huge number of devices will be connected with each other. Successful low-power system integration involves disciplines such as system architecture, different sources of energy, storage and most importantly software and algorithms. The two types of technology currently explored include cutting down power consumption and extending power sources.
Speakers:
Pau Mallol, CEO/Founder at Inkonova
Prajeet Pratel, Head of Business Development at Qoitech
Håkan Ohlgren, CTO/Chief Architect at WSI
Hosted by Magnus Melander.
Pau Mallol discussed challenge of minimizing energy to maximize flying time for their drones that 3D map areas that are inaccessible e.g. underground mines.
Håkan Ohlgren led us through what to think of when considering battery operated devices.
Prajeet Pratel showed off their product, the toolbox Otii which does battery profiling. This helps software engineers optimise energy usage.
Get On Top Of-event series aims to give anyone a rapid understanding of what the technology actually is, what it can be used for and how to get going. GOTO events are free of charge. You can find the schedule of upcoming events at www.thingstockholm.com
