Globe Life Field preview

The Texas Rangers' new stadium looks cool, but it's gonna be MUCH harder to catch baseballs there. No more grassy hill in center field. Not much room to move around in the outfield. And based on the moat-like walkways down the foul lines, I predict security will be much tighter. On the plus side, the big brick archways in left field are shaping up to be a gorgeous, iconic feature, and the new retractable roof will prevent heat exhaustion in the summer.

How high will with the protective netting be? Will home runs reach the back of the 2nd deck in left field? Will foul balls reach the walkway behind the plate in the 3rd deck? Will pop-ups hit the metal beams of the roof? Leave a comment and share your thoughts.

This stadium reminds me most of Minute Maid Park in Houston, and when we take a deep dive through the artists' renditions and construction photos, you'll see why.
