Description

The Bellemond Kent Paper-like screen protector. Is it a good screen protector for use with your Apple Pencil? Absolutely. It is a good screen protector for use with games? Absolutely.

For the rest of this review, I’m going to talk about the design of the product, the functionality of it with the iPad, specifically the wear and tear and finally the protection it probably won’t offer your iPad.

I love this product. It has worked SO well with my 12.9 iPad Pro.

When it comes to the fit, the Bellemond Kent Paper Screen protector extends past the viewable area. There is a cutout for the notch at the top as well as two other sensors at the top. The amount of coverage that you get along the edges will be based entirely on your ability to install the screen protector properly.

I’m no stranger to installing screen protectors BUT Bellemond includes NOTHING that will help with the install. It takes time and a lot of patience to line stuff up, smooth down, remove a bit more film, smooth down and at the end of the process, hoping that everything lined up properly.

My best attempt only resulted mild off-centering BUT the off-centering is on the wrong side. I’ve got a tip for the install that I’ll cover at the end of this video. The screen protector also works with every case I’ve used with the iPad Pro as well.

When it comes to the functionality, it’s hit and miss when it comes from the Bellemond Kent Paper screen protector.

I had no issues with sensitivity with my fingers or Apple Pencil BUT fingerprinting eventually became an issue. Now it’s not as terrible as glass as the matte finish does a good job hiding the grease. The finish on the screen protector will act like a fine pumice stone as rubbing the protector hard enough will remove dead skin cells. Growdy.

Now the screen protector is going to wash out your screen. The matte finish tends to scatter the light which makes it a little more annoying to find a decent working angle/location. The difference was REALLY noticeable after we cut the screen protector in half. Light reflections look manageable on the uncovered glass, looks terrible with the Bellemond.

Using my Apple Pencil with this screen protector has been spectacular. Now part of my enthusiasm comes from my recent purchase of the 12.9 Inch iPad as the extra ~2 inch in the diagonal over my 11 inch iPad has been revealing.

And with this Kent-paper like screen protector, it feels like I’m using paper. It provides just enough friction that it feels like the tip of the Apple Pencil is digging into the paper. On a normal iPad, the Apple Pencil just slides around because it’s just glass.

Honestly, I’m very disappointed that I have to swap out the screen protector for a glass one. Very dissapointed BUT that’s the life of a reviewer. Next up for the big iPad is a Tech Armor screen protector.

Now the other reason why I wanted this screen protector was for gaming. My current addition is Call of Duty Mobile and unlike previous COD games, I haven’t gotten sick of it yet. Now I’m not console gamer so adding a controller to the game is a no-go for me BUT the Bellemond has made my occasionally extended gaming sessions more manageable as it my fingers don’t get sore as fast.

Now as a side note, I’ve started a MREH clan on COD Mobile so if you’re wanting to play a handful of games with each day, join the MREH clan. I’m not working towards any sort of prestige, it’s just going to be a place where I’ll hang out with some of you.

The cherry on top is the fact that the screen protector comes in packs of two.

When it comes to protection, I don’t think this film is going to offer much in terms of impact protection. BUT unlike our iPhones, we don’t drop our iPads as much and if you, there’s usually a cover of some sort.

The only thing that my iPads have suffered from have been scratches. This screen protector will do a good job of minimizing accidental scratches. Surprisingly, the screen protector doesn’t look like there are any abrasions even though it only has a hardness of at least 2. The screen protector doesn’t look like it suffers from an daily Apple Pencil usage.
