Hawks arrest 10 service providers from KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape on fraud, corruption allegations
Description
The Hawks in the Eastern Cape have arrested 10 service providers from KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape for allegations of fraud and corruption charges.
It's alleged that in 2014, the Department of Social Development planned to conduct Imbizos to educate the public on the services that SASSA has to offer them.
During the process, beneficiaries would be afforded a chance to raise queries related to SASSA.
Local service providers were invited to render services such as transportation, hiring of tents and catering.
The suspects are aged between 36 and 68.
