Description

How to Build a Rustic Shelf with Hidden Wireless Charging Capabilities! What is this Witchery you speak of? Wireless Charging, also known as QI Charging has been around for while but l reckon it’s really cool when you can incorporate it into a piece of furniture. The Wireless Charger l incorporated into the Rustic Bookshelf in this video is a great mix where ‘Old Age Rustic’ meets ‘New Age Technology’.
Without doubt this Wireless Phone Charging Tech is only going to get better and better in time with a greater range of transmission which is the problem today with hiding a wireless phone charger in a piece of furniture. Any distance greater than roughly 3mm from the top of the wireless charger to the phone itself and the range will be too great to transmit a charging signal.
At this point in time, using a QI Charger, or wireless charger, to charge the battery on your phone or iPad or tablet is not as fast as plugging a charger into a wall like we’ve all been doing since mobile phones came out. Having said that, they are great for that extra charge when you’re sitting on the couch watching TV or have it incorporated into your bedside table for that overnight charge.
If you’re a bit more tech-savvy than myself, l believe you can also buy the wireless charger kit without the case surrounding it which would, or so l have been told, improve the wireless charging transmitting distance.
I live in a rural small town and the choice of wireless chargers at my immediate disposal was meagre at best. As a consequence, the Qi Charger l used in the video wasn’t the best quality and l probably wouldn’t recommend it.

However, after doing some research, this is the Charger l would recommend:
Anker Wireless Charger, PowerWave Pad 10W. https://amzn.to/2yZ5w1p

Please be aware that most Wireless Chargers don’t come with an Adapter that you connect the supplied USB into. Either use the adapter that comes with your phone or you can buy a separate 10W Adapter that the supplied USB can plug into.

Please note also that not all phones are Wireless Charging Compatible. Check the packaging before you purchase to see if your phone is compatible. For example, the iPhone 7 and below are not wireless charging compatible.

Hope you enjoy the video
