Description

I learned to read and write Pakistan's National Language, Urdu, in just one month! I'll take you through the entire process from day 1 and show you exactly how I learnt Urdu.

I learned Urdu reading and writing so quickly because I can already read and write in India's most spoken language, Hindi. Both languages are extremely similar, with the biggest difference being the script they're written in. Hindi is written in Devanagari (देवनागरी), and Urdu is written in Nastaliq (نستعلیق unfortunately here it's showing up in Naskh script due to YouTube). Otherwise, they share most of the same vocabulary, and Indians and Pakistans can understand each other just fine.

For more details on how to learn Urdu (and Hindi), see my blog https://blog.karlrock.com/how-i-learnt-urdu-and-how-you-can-too/.

If you're interested in learning Urdu or Hindi with Dr Todd Nachowitz, check out his non-profit Earth Diverse https://earthdiverse.org.nz/. They run in-person and online classes. This is not sponsored, and I paid for all my classes.

The restaurant I ate at (5 times now actually) is Dhaba On Highway Hamilton, https://goo.gl/maps/iJcqSyYZ7LBBsrTJ9. They serve the most authentic Dhaba food I've found in New Zealand. Try the Paratha Thali.
