    Description

When it comes to competitive FPS games, unfair advantages as a result of hardware, internet or server issues, all of which results in the potential for a frustrating experience.

According to VALORANT senior software engineer David Straily, his team has made it a goal for themselves to ensure to the best of their ability that the game can correctly register a player's actions and mitigate the impact of peeker's advantage.

In order to accomplish this, VALORANT will feature 128 tick servers and 35 ms latency for a majority of players (~70%) in primary markets.

“We measured with a bunch of pro players and experienced folks here in the studio," said Strally. "And we deemed that less than 80 millisecond is fair for peeking with our weapons and tuning. Not good, not great, but fair."
