How Many People Work for Tesla As Company Nearly Doubled Its Headcount
Description
Tesla nearly doubled its workforce in 2020 by adding almost 30,000 workers in one year. This is one of the major factors adding Tesla's growth in 2020 and witnessing to Tesla's enormous pace of development as a manufacturer.
Last year was a difficult year not only for the automotive industry, but entire industries in general. But despite this, Tesla showed unique results, as in 2020 it increased the number of employees by almost 30,000.
Look what Tesla's K10 filing shows. In these unprecedented times, the company has grown its global workforce by 47%, according to its 10-K filing. Thus, at the year ending December 31, 2020, Tesla employed 70,757 people worldwide, up from 48,016 in 2019.
""As of December 31, 2020, our full-time count for our and our subsidiaries' employees worldwide was 70,757. To date, we have not experienced any work stoppages as a result of labor disputes, and we consider our relationship with our employees to be good. Our key human objectives capital in managing our business include attracting, developing and retaining top talent while integrating diversity, equity and inclusion principles and practices into our core values."
In 2020, Tesla expanded into many markets around the world by opening and expanding offices, stores, and service centers. "However, the main credit for such a large increase in the number of employees belongs to the rapidly growing business in China via Giga Shanghai. Giga Berlin also played an important role in achieving this result, as Tesla has been recruiting employees for the factory for several months now. The fast-growing Giga Texas is also requiring constant recruitment of new employees," concludes Eva Fox in The Tesmanian.
