I’m guessing if you are watching this video you’ve applied to plenty of jobs online and most likely hear crickets. Getting a job through an online application is HARD y’all. It’s actually very rare to get a job that way.


The best and easiest way to get a job interview, and to then get you the job is by an employee recommendation. Today I’m going to give you 3 ways to get one step closer to that recommendation.

Something that a lot of people don’t know about is that lots of companies have employee referral perks and bonuses meaning, if they refer you and you get hired, they get money.

It’s literally in their best interest to get to know you because they might get money from that.

So, how do we meet people?

First, you can meet people virtually- God bless LinkedIn.
Next, go to events in your area and meet people- LinkedIn Local, Creative Mornings, Associations, they are all great places to start a conversation.

And third, get 1-on-1 with people. Those people you’ve met at an event or online? Ask them for coffee to hear more about their job or a way you could help.

Now when something comes up at the company and you go “I want to apply for that!” You have someone to reach out to and can ask them to refer you.
