Description

Horizon Hills in Johor, Malaysia. This course is my NEMESIS. I have never broken 80 here. i intended to in this round. i was focused, I was playing well enough and I was poised on the verge of greatness...

Until I decided to go to sleep at 1am for a 7am tee time. I just get SO psyched and excited to play Horizon Hills every single time and it bites me in the backside each time.

I had some good holes. i had some SHOCKING holes including a 4 putt!

The greens here are very speedy and most of the time, in SE Asia, you're not going to find many greens running higher than 9.5 on the stimp. Horizon Hills usually run at about 11 on a bad day!

I also didn't bring my blade, instead using the Thor's hammer mallet. This was an error.

Sleep, playas is the MOST important thing to us as humans. it keeps the immune system strong, it keeps the mood stable, hormones regulated and so many things. I amnot the world's best sleeper and particularly before golf I get too excited to sleep, planning the holes, imagining the shots.

Without enough sleep, we lose the focus, then we lose the feel and the short game. Then we get tense and upset because we are trying SO hard to overcome our lack of sleep and in turn, we become sloppy because we aren't the same person when we are fatigued.

This is a disaster round and I hope you enjoy it because I usually switch off the camera, so I can focus on the game and try salvage something. I kept it roling here because I will document my journey at Horizon. It's my nemesis and I will overcome it one day this year. I will be attempting it again and again to break 80 at this tough challenging course!
