HOW WE DO LEAD-OUTS - Cimo finishes fourth | Vuelta a la Comunidad Valenciana 2020
Description
Two ISN-riders in top-10 stage 3 Valenciana, Cimo happy with performance
It was a matter of a few centimeters that kept Davide Cimolai just off the podium in stage 3 of the @Vuelta a la Comunidad Valenciana. Although Cimo criticized his last kilometer, he is ‘happy with the performance’
Cimolai was not the only ISN-rider in the top-10. Also, Tom van Asbroeck, Cimo’s last man for the lead out, got himself a good result: 9th.
With Dan Martin just outside the podium yesterday, Cimo finishing as number four was the second fourth place for Israel Start-Up Nation in a row.
Davide Cimolai: “I did spend a lot of energy in the last kilometer because I was a bit out of position. Then in the sprint, I got boxed in a bit. However, I am happy with the teamwork and the performance.”
Oscar Guerrero, one of the two DS in function, praised the way the team worked for Cimo. “I was a team working closely together for our sprinter today.”
Tomorrow there is a stage that particularly suits Martin very well as we are finishing steeply uphill once again. Considering the GC is also still all but decided, Martin has double chances for success.
