I QUIT | Why I Quit Teaching

I did not quit teaching because of two students. I quit teaching because over the past five years I have seen it go downhill. Now keep in mind, I teach in Florida and there are a lot of things that are different from state to state or even district to district. I did EVERYTHING that I could for those students and followed the procedures that I was told to follow from administration and from my district. There is only so much that we can do. NO JOB IS EASY, and I am not saying I quit because it was too hard. There are a lot of things that stress you out as a teacher, just like other jobs out there. Teaching in a public school is not how I thought it would be. Thankfully, my administration have been very understanding and helpful throughout this whole process. We can only do so much and the true issue is a lack of parenting. It is to the point now where teachers are asked to do things for students or to teach them things that parents should be teaching them. Oh, on top of teaching them reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Teaching has changed. Teaching is hard. Teachers are amazing people.
