I found this one during one of my guitar hunting videos and curiosity got the best of me so I had to buy it! The seller said it was a custom shop les paul and while yes, it did have a Custom Shop Edition decal - that means something completely different until 1993. 1993 was when the Gibson Custom Shop Opened. The big question was - is this an early-1993 Prehistoric 1956 Les Paul reissue or a first year Custom Shop Mahogany Top R6 Les Paul reissue?

Spoilers ---
It turned out to be a 3rd week, 1993 - pre-historic Les Paul Reissue that was part of a limited edition run that still had the old decal instead of the truss rod that was engraved "Limited Edition 1 of XXX." I also found out that Tom Murphy painted this one so that was a great find! This was a fun mystery to solve!
