IELTS sample essay (band 8.5): Addressing Key Task Words Points

IELTS and TOEFL test takers often make this mistake: they do not address all the key aspects of the task. Sometimes this means they simply do not explain something that needs to be explained, as is the case with the following task:

Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause serious social problems, as well as practical problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

If you do not address all the key terms you will lose points for Task Response.
