Indians Being Scammed by Indians

Scammers in India are busy calling Indians trying to steal their credit card details by promising to link their Aadhaar card (National ID) to their credit card! One of my subscribers recorded his call with such a scammer, so you can see how this scam works.

First, the phone scammer builds trust with by scaring you into thinking your credit card will stop working if you don't link it to your Aadhaar card. Once a rapport is built, and you've given your Aadhar number, they move into the next phase - stealing your credit card number.

After that, all sorts of random purchases will start showing up on your credit card as the scammers buy random goods to resell.
