Intake Screen Box Build and Install Micro Hydro 1/10

The intake screen box for the micro hydro system allows water to spill into the screen and pass debris while allowing the water to fall into the box. This box is self cleaning to keep leaves and sticks from building up on the intake. From the intake box there are three 1.25" poly pipes exiting to take the water to the next stage of the build.

Treated lumber was used to make the box. Along with Aluminum window screen and aluminum flashing to hold the screen in place. Be sure to use exterior screws to prevent rust. I also installed an inner tube in the seams of the box to help prevent leaks.

The angle of the box needs to be steep enough to pass debris.
