Description

Intel’s Ghost Canyon NUC is a PCIe-socketable full system with baseboard, assembled in a small form factor case with a discrete GPU. In this video, we’re tearing it down.

We’re tearing down Intel’s brand new Ghost Canyon NUC, made in the NUC Kit and NUC Compute Element variants. In this tear-down, we’re taking apart the complete system and removing the smaller vapor chamber cooling solution, revealing Intel’s CPU and chipset. The system uses a connecting baseboard to bridge the computer and GPU, but most interestingly, it installs into the cases via simple PCIe slot. You could theoretically socket this into a larger case and then use it as a streaming PC, running all the cables directly between two systems in the same larger case. Alternatively, it’s usable as an all-in-one solution with a CPU and GPU in a 7-liter box, or 5-liter box if using Intel’s version of the case (rather than Cooler Master’s, as shown by CyberPower PC in this video).
