Hotel: Pera city hotel
We booked a double room. From reading the reviews a lot of people complained about the size of the single room. However the size of the double room was fine for us.
There's a on site restaurant open 24hours on the top floor. This floor also has a balcony with an amazing view.
This hotel is close to Isikiel city centre which is a great location to be.

Transportation:
-You can buy a public card for 5/10TLY and top it off as you need. You can use one card to pay for someone else. My friend and I shared one card.
Taxi's are much cheaper compared to Dublin but if there's a lot of traffic at that particular time, it's best to use public transport.
The public transport is really good, cheap and reliable - just make sure you hold your valuables carefully.

-When researching tourist attractions make sure to check the opening days and time.

-If you need a sim card while in Istanbul, there are a few Vodafone stores over there and they offer different deals.
