Johnny Depp Trial VERDICT Announced

Johnny Depp won his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury awarded Depp $15 million, while a second count in Heard's countersuit was found in her favor and she was awarded $2 million in damages. However, the judge knocked Depp's award goes down to $10,350,000, per law in Virgina. Depp sued Heard in response to an op-ed she wrote about being the victim of domestic abuse, which the actor claimed negatively impacted his career. In a statement following the verdict, Heard says in part, 'I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American – to speak freely and openly.'
