Judge sentences father, daughter for their roles in torture of a man in Clearcreek Twp.
Description
LEBANON, Ohio (WKRC) - Two of the three people charged with holding a man in a dog cage and assaulting him in Clearcreek Township were sentenced Friday. A Warren County Judge sentenced Lindsey Parker and her father, Bryan Parker, each to six years in prison.
The Parkers, along with Christopher Edwards, are accused of holding the victim in a home on East Lytle 5 Points Road for four days in October. Lindsey Parker lured the victim there, saying she needed help.
The victim was tortured until he escaped. He broke a window into the Clearcreek Township Fire Department across the road, while they were on another run. The victim stole an ambulance and drove it to Dayton Children's Hospital.
Inside the courtroom, a woman read a letter to the judge on behalf of the victim. It said he spent a week in the ICU and another month in the psychiatric unit:
“After two months of attending counseling sessions, twice a week, I thought that I would be feeling somewhat normal. I still can’t sleep through the night, nor can I leave the house without a feeling of dread overcoming me.”
The Parkers both pleaded guilty to felonious assault in exchange for prosecutors dropping a kidnapping charge.
Edwards has not taken a plea deal. He's set to go on trial in June. Edwards is locked up on a $1 million bond.
