Keigo Sonoda (園田 啓悟 Sonoda Keigo, born 20 February 1990) is a Japanese badminton player.[1] He affiliated with the YKK AP Yatsushiro, before joining the Tonami team in 2010. Sonoda was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Takeshi Kamura in March 2017.[2][3]
Sonoda won the silver medal at the 2018 World Championships and a bronze in 2017. In the continental Asia, he helps the national team won the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, also collected a silver and three bronze medals in the individual men's doubles event. He competed at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games.[4]
Yuta Watanabe (渡辺 勇大 Watanabe Yūta, born 13 June 1997) is a badminton player from Japan.[1] He was a member of the Nihon Unisys team, and national team A representative.[2] Watanabe has collected three bronze medals at the World Junior Championships, and also four bronze at the Asian Junior Championships. Watanabe was selected to join the Japanese mixed team compete at the 2017 Sudirman Cup in Gold Coast, Australia, winning a gold medal in the qualification to Gold Coast at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the team finished in the semi-final round, took the bronze medal. The left-handed Watanabe won the maiden Super 1000 tournament at the 2018 All England Open in the mixed doubles event partnered with Arisa Higashino.
Li Junhui (Chinese: 李俊慧, born 10 May 1995) is a Chinese badminton player.[1] He was the gold medalist at the 2018 World Championships in the men's doubles event partnered with Liu Yuchen,[2] and two times won the gold medal at the Asian Championships in 2017 and 2018. Li was part of the national team member that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup and 2019 Sudirman Cup.
Liu Yuchen (Chinese: 刘雨辰; pinyin: Liú Yǔchén, born 25 July 1995) is a Chinese badminton player.[1] He was the men's doubles World Champion in 2018,[2] also two times Asian Champion in 2017 and 2018 partnered with Li Junhui. Liu was part of the national team member that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup and 2019 Sudirman Cup. Together with Li, he achieved the men's doubles world number 1 in 6 April 2017, and occupied the top ranking for ten weeks.
His sister, Liu Jing, is a swimmer.[3]
