Number 10: The Radio.
Long before there was the Internet, long before there was television, there was the radio. And, despite superior technologies being around today, it's something that many people can't live without.
The first official patent for the radio was filed in 1904. But its inventor was actually two different guys who didn't work together. Nikola Tesla and Guglielmo Marconi. Both of them contributed to both its true invention, and its ability to do what it does best, transmit sounds from one place to another without being connected.
You might think that it wasn't as revolutionary as we're making it sound. But think of it like this, without the radio, there wouldn't have been things like Walkie-Talkie's, that helped soldiers in war, long before there were better lines of communication. Entertainment would've been set back a long time, and without the radio proving that you can send sound signals through the air and hear them hundreds, and thousands, of miles away, a certain thing called the cell phone wouldn't have been invented.
The radio helped change everything for a lot of people, and not just in one country, but the entire world! It was a way to connect to everyone, hear the news live instead of having to get the paper the next morning, and so much more.
Plus, I bet you listen to the radio in your vehicle, so where would music be without it? Exactly.
Number 9: Nuclear Power.
It may seem odd to have something as dangerous and powerful as Nuclear Power on this list, but the reason for this is because, while it is dangerous in many forms, it's still one of the cleanest forms of energy in the world today. For Nuclear Power Plants actually don't pollute the environment, which is something you honestly can't say about many other forms of clean energy, including solar power in certain facets.
Anyway, when Nuclear Power was discovered, it was a very big deal. Some have even equated it to what steam power was back in earlier centuries. And whether you acknowledge it or not, it was Nuclear Power that helped stop World War II via the Atomic Bombs that were dropped on Japan to force them to surrender and officially end the war.
Of course, the reason that Nuclear Power is so negatively looked at is, not just the bombs that are made because of its power, but the radioactivity that it can cause when not handled properly. Chernobyl remains one of the biggest disasters in human history because of how the plant wasn't protected properly. Not to mention Fukushima’s constant leak into the Pacific Ocean, due to the earthquake of 2011.
Still, despite all of that, some feel that Nuclear Power is the way to go to make a world of clean energy.
Number 8: The Airplane.

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Super...wait, actually...it is a plane, and it's a good thing too!
The legendary flight of Orville and Wilbur Wright happened in 1903 in North Carolina, and that flight, which only went a short distance, was proof that air travel was possible in a much, much different way. You
see, at the time, if you wanted to go up in the air and see the world, you had to do it via balloons. Which worked, no doubt, but they were slow, and could only hold up a few people without causing issues.
But because of the Wright Brothers, airplanes came to be a real thing. And suddenly, travel wasn't just open, it could go in any direction. Trains needed tracks to move. Ships need water and wind or motors to get around. But a plane? All you needed was a solid frame, a good motor, and a direction to go in.
The evolution of the airplane from propeller motors to jet engines is one you honestly should look into, because it's pretty incredible. But the most important thing is that flying is the safest way to travel, and it gets a lot of people to where they need to go in a relatively short amount of time.
Not bad for a crazy invention from two brothers near Kitty Hawk, am I right?
Number 7: Rockets.
Rockets are a very interesting piece of technology, because technically they were invented by the Chinese over three thousand years ago and used to propel some of their weapons of war. The Greeks and Romans also used their own versions of rockets over the ages. But when we think of rockets, we think about missiles, shuttles, and other things that harness the true power of a rocket engine.
