This live performance was recorded in July, 1964, at the Top of the Tangent, Palo Alto, California, by Stanford students Pete Wanger and Wayne Ott, who were collecting material for their KZSU-FM radio program, "Live from the Top of the Tangent." The CD was produced for Grateful Dead Records by Michael Wanger.
