Hey guys,
In this video I’ll review one of the most difficult to attain Patek Philippe World Timer 5130P-014 which is a Dubai limited edition Patek Philippe World Timer.

Make no mistakes, this watch Patek Philippe World Timer is legendary and ranks high up within this category of complicated timepieces.
Patek Philippe produced 150 pieces world time wacthes with reference 5130P
However this spectacular Patek Philippe World Timer is a dubai limited edition and one out a few aimed toward the Middle East and only 50 pieces were made. The specific reference for this edition is 5130P-014.This Patek Philippe world Timer its part of the Commemorative edition made for the sponsor of Patek in Dubai, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, a truly rare piece that is now discontinued.
What distinguishes the dubai edition is that you have dubai written in red on the dial between 11 and 12 o'clock. As a rule of thumb World Time watches houses a unique mechanism that displays the time not only at a present location but also across 24 primary time zones, thus the name, ‘World Time’.Effectively, you will be able to tell the time at a glance of any of the major 24 time zones on-demand.
The Patek Philippe World Time Ref. 5130P presents an indication for 24 time zones, with an hour and minute hands displaying the local time in the middle of the dial. Also surrounding the dial are two rings. One with the names of 24 cities that best represent the 24 time zones, for this Patek its the black outer ring. The second ring in grey with a 24-hour scale featuring a moon symbol on the darker part for nocturnal hours and a brighter one with a sun symbol for the daytime hours.
You essentially eliminate the need to calculate time differences or to stop the watch and move the hour hand in either direction to set the time.
All you need to do is depress the push piece at 10 o’clock until the city that stands for the destination time zone is at the top of the dial.
Each time the push piece is actuated, the hour hand that displays local time advances by one hour while the 24-hour ring and the city ring move counterclockwise.
This particular model, Ref. 5130P, has 18K white gold applied hour markers and hands, a black dial with grey sunburst center and comes with a hand-stitched alligator strap.
That strap quality is also superb and doesn't feel like any other leather strap, and what you should expect from a brand like Patek.
The watch features Patek Philippe’s complex self-winding caliber 240 HU movement with a 22K gold off-center mini-rotor and has a power reserve of 48 hours.
Patek Philippe’s World Time Ref. 5130P-014 has a classic 13 Calatrava-style case in platinum. With a diameter of 39.5 mm that assures excellent legibility.
For a watch with such complex functions, it is remarkably thin, which means it will never be out of place even thought its got a leather strap, which is something strictly thought off for classic watches, however, with the red stitching this piece is easily a daily wearer and somehow feels sporty.
If you look at the dial design it is unmistakably inspired by the first World Time watches dating back to the 1930s, Patek had incorporated a design language that is reminiscent of historic Patek Philippe World Time watch but also speaks to much more modern generations with the stitching on the leather, on the dial for Dubai and timeless featured ring-shaped hour hand.
The complication, the fact that its limited, it was only sold in dubai and discontinued this watch cost $130,000 if you find one in pristine condition.
