Description
Jeremy Dunham's 18-yard field goal with 24 second left spoiled an outstanding night from receiver Alex Clutter who returned a kickoff 95-yards to spark a Chieftain comeback and also caught 5 passes for 86 yards.
Watkins took a 13-0 lead before Clutter's kick off return and quarterback Jeff Maibach's 9-yard scoring run gave Logan a 14-13 halftime lead. Maibach completed a season best 10 of 17 passes for 171 yards.
The teams traded touchdowns with Quinton Evans scoring in the third and fourth quarters to give Logan a 28-27 lead with 4:15 to play.
The game was the only meeting ever between Watkins Memorial and Logan.
The Chiefs lost a number of close contests and limped to a 2-8 overall record.
