London terrorist Sudesh Amman was released from jail after previous terror offences
Description
The knife-wielding terrorist who was shot dead in London has been named as Sudesh Amman – a man who was recently released from jail after being convicted of 13 terror offences in 2018.
Amman went on a stabbing rampage in Streatham just before 3pm London time and managed to injure three people before he was shot dead by police.
One victim is fighting for their life in hospital while the other two have been discharged with minor injuries.
Amman was released from jail after serving only half of his sentence for his previous crimes which included preparing to commit a terror attack.
When he was convicted Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command boss Alexis Boon described Amman as having a “fierce interest in violence and martyrdom”, according to British paper The Telegraph.
“His fascination with dying in the name of terrorism was clear in a notepad we recovered from his home.
"Amman had scrawled his ‘life goals’ in the notepad and top of the list, above family activities, was dying a martyr and going to ‘Jannah’ - the afterlife."
The Telegraph and The Sun have also reported that the terrorist was found with a “a combat knife, air gun and black flag” in his London home.
