Lotte Shopping to acquire Hanssem, S. Korea’s top home furnishing company

South Korean retail giant Lotte Shopping, together with a private equity firm, is going to take over the country’s biggest furniture and home furnishing company, Hanssem.
Lotte Shopping announced on Friday that it's going to invest some 2-hundred-56 million U.S. dollars to acquire Hanssem together with IMM Private Equity.
As an operator of department and discount stores, Lotte Shopping expects the buyout to lead to synergy.
Industry watchers say Lotte Shopping was selected as the buyer due to its big distribution channel with a large customer base both online and offline.
