Man Charged with Drug Possession Smokes a Joint in Court | NowThis

In US news and current events today, 20-year-old Spencer Alan Boston was charged with disorderly conduct after sparking up a joint in a Wilson County, TN courtroom. Boston was reportedly in court on a drug possession charge. When he approached the bench to discuss his charge, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a joint, and lit it up, taking a puff or two before being detained and cuffed.

Sheriff Robert Bryan said Boston was led out of the courtroom ‘through a small cloud of smoke’ and that he made a statement referring to the legalization of cannabis.

A lieutenant with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said the courtroom chuckled when Boston lit the joint. He added that he thinks Boston planned the stunt.

A GoFundMe account created shortly after Boston’s stunt raised more than $3k in 24 hours to bail him out of jail.
