FINALLY I have got my 10 year video edited thanks to social distancing!

On the 22nd February I have owned Murphy for 10 years! It's crazy how that time has flown. I'm so glad it has all been documented on youtube. I wanted to keep this video fairly unedited and simple - just a collection of the highlights from our journey. I hope you enjoy a walk down memory lane :)

Where did you buy Murphy? - He happened to be at my friends yard for breaking and my friend's dad said he would be a good, cheap horse for me. I had recently been given a sum of money in memory of my dad and I used it to purchase him for £600 without seeing him out of the stable because I'd been wishing to have my own horse for 13 years. It definitely wasn't a wise idea and I probably bit off more than I could chew! But he turned out to be a diamond in the rough thankfully

What breed is Murphy - Irish Sport Horse (Half ID and half trotter)

What age was Murphy when I got him - he was 3, almost 4

Why was Murphy so dirty in the early videos/why didn't I groom him - Murphy had been left out to a field and was untouched when I got him and he was terrified of being handled. his coat was caked in thick, dry mud and he has sensitive pink skin so even touching it was quite uncomfortable for him. He was too spooky to hose and wouldn't let us touch his legs at all for a long time. To enable us to start desensitising and breaking him in we worked on cleaning the areas where the tack go so he would be comfortable when ridden but we had to wait until the winter coat fell out for the rest of his body to clear of dirt.

Why don't I make videos as much any more - Unfortunately it is very difficult for me to get clips now as I mostly ride in the evenings and rarely have someone to film for me. I have two small kids, a job and other commitments so I can't often organise to ride when someone can come film sadly :( However this may change in the near future...
