MDS is a postgraduate course in different disciplines of dentistry. Dental Science or Dental Surgery is a branch of the medical sciences which deals with dental and oral health. This course imparts the knowledge and the skills to solve these dental and oral health problems which are faced by most of the human population.
This course is completed over a duration of three years. However, there is a provision of two years MDS course for candidates who have passed the Post Graduate Diploma course recognized by the Dental Council of India for the duration of two years in a particular specialty.

The minimum qualification for this course is Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.
