More and more young people have a 'hysterical emotional response' to crises
Description
Queensland Senator Amanda Stoker says Australian educational institutions are “producing more and more young people” who experience a “whipped up hysterical emotional response” to crises like climate change.
Describing the coalition’s “compromise position” on emissions reduction, Ms Stoker told Sky News hosts Alan Jones and Peta Credlin the government's policy meets the Paris targets and doesn’t “destroy the job opportunities” of people who “desperately need the one in seven jobs from the mining industry”.
Ms Stoker said one of the “major differences between the right and the left” in Australia is the argument of equality of opportunity versus equality of outcome.
“The left will tell you we have to guarantee equality of outcomes for all people,” she said.
"That’s an empty promise because you can never deliver it".
