The word anime is the Japanese term for animation, which refers to all forms of animated media. Outside Japan, anime refers specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often characterized by colourful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes.
The culturally abstract approach to the word's meaning may open up the possibility of anime produced in countries other than Japan. Many Westerners strictly view anime as a Japanese animation product. Some scholars suggest defining anime as specifically or quintessentially Japanese may be related to a new form of Orientalism.
Japanese animation began in the early 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques also pioneered in France, Germany, the United States and Russia. By the 1930s animation was well established in Japan as an alternative format to the live-action industry. Momotarō: Umi no Shinpei (1945), is the first anime feature film made during world war 2.
The first anime was made during Jan 1, 1907. The first foreign animation is known to have been found in Japan in 1910. Masaoka created the first talkie anime, Chikara to Onna no Yo no Naka, released in 1933. Shochiku then made Japan's first full-length animated feature, Seo's Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors in 1945. Toei Animation and Mushi Production was founded and produced the first colour anime feature film in 1958. The 1960s brought anime to television and in America.
During the 1970s, the Japanese film market shrank due to competition from television. By 2004, over two hundred shows were aired on television. In 2015, an all record-high of three hundred forty anime series aired on television. In today’s world it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t know about anime. Hope you enjoy the visualization.
