MY PORTFOLIOS – A BIT FOR EVERYONE’S INVESTING NEEDS
I have things separated into two portfolio segments. One segment is the LUMP SUM, MODEL AND PERSONAL PORTFOLIO SEGMENT where the bulk of my money is and comprehend my top 10 investment ideas.

My target is to develop all the 3 portfolios towards 1 MILLION over time! I need an approximate return of 12% per year over 20 years to do that with the LUMP SUM AND MODEL PORTFOLIOS.

The other is the PETER LYNCH STYLE PORTFOLIO where I target having 50 positions because I see that only when I own something, I know it really well and that reflects also on the whole sector. Thus, over 2020 I’ll develop a portfolio of 30 to 50 positions where I’ll be forced to really know the businesses as I’ll own them. The target is always to make it a profitable venture even if it will not include my top ten investment ideas that are included in the other portfolios.

MODEL PORTFOLIO

This is a portfolio launched in May 2018 with 10k and where I add 1k per month. This is a situation many of you probably find yourselves where you have some available cash on a monthly basis. My goal is to buy the best investment I can find each month and compound the portfolio with double digit returns for 20 years.

I make an investment every month and this portfolio is fully invested as the monthly additions are the risk managing tool. The amount of position is usually around 10.

Is it too late to join and follow the model portfolio?

Many always wonder, since the portfolio has been launched in 2018, whether it is too late to join?

Well, I consider investing a long-term investment process. Each month I add my 1000 and buy something. So, it is never late to start. Investing is a long-term game. The key is to start, doesn't matter when.

LUMP SUM PORTFOLIO

The lump sum portfolio was launched during 2019 where the goal is to develop a strong track record. The initial investment was 100k and there will be no additions to it. So, to manage risk I apply the following strategy:

80% invested in normal economic situations / 20% in cash
100% invested during crises – like the current 2020 situation is
125% invested when there are real bargains out there by leveraging the portfolio (currently only one portfolio transaction has been made using leverage using 16% of the allowed leverage). Here I only make a purchase if the likely return is above 20% per year with low risk.
The target is equal to the Model portfolio – to reach ONE MILLION in 20 years or perhaps even sooner.

Is it too late to join and follow the lump sum portfolio?

Given the current situation, many of the positions are close or below my initial investment prices even if the portfolio is up. Therefore, given that we are investing in businesses for the long-term, rebalancing the portfolio depending on the risk and reward and always looking for better ideas, it is never too late to join and follow. Many admire Berkshire's portfolio but often forget it was build over the last 54 years. That is my plan too, buy great businesses when the opportunity comes, over a few decades, we will have a great portfolio.

Even if you just get one really good idea per year from what I do, this research platform will be a great investment. After all, as would Munger say: “you only need a few good investments in your life”.

PERSONAL PORTFOLIO

To show full transparency with any kind of financial instruments owned, I also show my personal transactions that are not related to the above portfolio except for the fact that the holdings will be the same as we are always talking about my top 10 ideas. So, here I simply invest when I have some liquidity and I like the investment.

PETER LYNCH STYLE, LARGE PORTFOLIO

I have been developing my covered stocks list over the last two years but I have figured that in order to really know something, to be able to follow it and timely make decisions, I’d better own the stock. So, I have decided to create a portfolio where I will actually own the stocks I follow. This will likely be profitable as I’ll do my best to make it profitable, but it will also be extremely helpful in better describing the risk reward of the investment and the expected return in relation to the stock price.
