Nirmala Sitharaman Quotes Kashmiri Poet, Oppn Slams Centre On Political Detentions, Curbs

utlining aims of the Narendra Modi government in her Union Budget-2020 speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman quoted noted Kashmiri poet Dina Nath Kaul and said everything that the government does is aimed at benefitting the people of the country. Nirmala Sitharaman recited a verse from Pandit Deena Nath Kaul's poem Myon Vatan (My Motherland) to encapsulate this. The opposition has slammed the Finance Minister and has questioned the government over its political detentions and curbs in the Kashmir Valley.
