PIP # 9 Strength/Agility # 9 - Shoot with Strength Movements
Description
Personal Improvement Program Strength/Agility #9 - Shooting with Strength movements helps player develop strength by activating key areas used in the game.
Activity Set-Up
- 1 cone, 30 yards from goal/target
- A goal or something to use as a target
- 1 server (optional, a ball fetcher/goalkeeper)
- As many balls as you have
Activity
- Player faces the goal
- Server stands behind the player
- Serve the ball over the top of the player
- Player performs a strength movement
- Sprints quickly to the ball and shoots
Movements to Perform
- Burpee
- Hop side to side over a ball or cone x 10
- Hope Forward and Backwards over a ball or cone x 10
- Tripod Pushup x10
Repeat 10 times then change strength movement
Ideas
- If you don't have a goal to shoot on use anything as a target - a wall or a fence
- You could also just get to the ball quickly and dribble round a cone
- Remember that the important part of this activity is the strength exercises.
