PM 'looking after our nation's interests and not the interests of UN globalists': Kelly
Description
Liberal MP Craig Kelly says the prime minister’s recent technology target means Australia will not be “suckered in and go appeasing the green left” to sign up to a net zero emissions target by 2050.
On Tuesday it was announced the Australian government will look at implementing a technology investment target to avoid committing to an internationally imposed 2050 targets.
There needs to be a debate on the impacts of a net zero target because the Australian public needs to understand such a target means the “end of our dairy industry, it means the end of our beef cattle industry, it means the end of tourism," he said.
Mr Kelly told Sky News host Andrew Bolt Prime Minister Scott Morrison “won’t crumble” in the face of “climate alarmism” and members of the Liberal Party who are pushing a net zero target.
Scott Morrison is a “prime minister who’s looking after our nation’s interests and not the interests of UN globalists,” he said.
