Pondicherry, officially known as Puducherry is one of the seven Union Territories of India. Affectionately called Pondy, this is a beautiful seaside town where you can find a perfect blend of Indian and French traditions. Currently, this is the most populous city of Indian Union territory Puducherry with a population of 657209 and an area of 492 sq Km. [Source: Wikipedia]
The city is bordered by the Indian state Tamil Nadu and for that reason, you can mostly experience the Tamil culture here. Also, in the former French colony of Pondicherry, you can experience French architecture and culture perfectly merged with Tamil culture. For that, this place is a perfect escape from the busy urban world, where you can find peace, scenic beauty, reach culture, some exotic French cuisine and a lot more.
