ESPN FC's Paolo Bandini and Steve Nicol give their list of top five center backs in the world, with Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Gerard Pique (Barcelona) and Raphael Varane (Real Madrid) on Bandini's list, and Nicol listing Godin, Chiellini, Varane, Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool) and Miranda (Inter Milan).

Bandini also goes on to list his all-time top five, with Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer, Bobby Moore, Gaetano Scirea and Fabio Cannavaro on the list.
