In US news and current events today, 65-year-old Diwaker Bosoye from east India has a rare skin condition that has left his skin covered in tumors and a 56 lb mass on his leg.

Physicians think it’s neurofibromatosis, a genetic illness that causes tumors to grow along nerves. Scientists don’t know how to prevent neurofibromas from growing, but surgery is recommended to
remove tumors that could eventually become cancerous.

Bosoye said he’s been treated worse than a ‘dirty stray animal’ by people in his neighborhood. Some even refer to him as the ‘Bubble Skin Man.’

An estimated 100k Americans live with neurofibromatosis.
