Episode Notes:
1. This was a really fun April Fool's episode. I used the original PC version in software mode with all effects turned off to simulate the Saturn footage. I ran it in 640x480 to give a look close to the Saturn's high resolution mode(704x480).
2. I took some liberties with the material, but tried to make it fun and believable. I made up some common issues that were present in many Saturn ports such as lower quality FMV, longer load times, and of course 3D transparencies.
3. The Playstation game is of the original Japanese version, Biohazard 2.
4. The PC version still runs on Windows 10 surprisingly, and has no copy protection at all. It even uses the Xbox One controller.
5. The opening story about Sega hiring Victor Ireland and trying to turn around the Saturn's fortune with Japanese games, was added to make the release of the US Saturn Resident Evil 2 slightly more plausible. A Saturn that sold 25 million units worldwide likely would have seen much more support for a longer period of time globally.
6. Since work did actually start on Resident Evil 2 for the Saturn, there may be an alpha build out there somewhere just waiting to be discovered. I hope someday it will be.
7. I threw in 4MB RAM cart use to give the story a bit more excitement. It was often the reason that 2D games were as good as they were on Saturn, and I assume that could have been the case with 3D games like this as well.
8. If you enjoyed this let me know. I'll try and do more like it in the future.
