1. Latest developments in Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death probe reveal that Enforcement Directorate is likely to conduct a second round of quizzing for Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and Sushant’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani in connection with the financial angle in the case.
Earlier, the same group including Rhea’s ex-manager Shruti Modi was called before ED for further probing after a money laundering case was filed against them by the father Sushant Singh Rajput. While Rhea was questioned for over eight hours, her brother Showik was grilled for over sixteen hours. EDs questioning will revolve around Rhea’s income, investments, financial transactions and more.
2. Another sensational twist comes to light in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation where the trouble seems to be mounting high for Rhea Chakraborty. The Enforcement Directorate is now focusing on probing the financial angle of Rhea, he family members and aides for which she will be grilled again.
Times Now has accessed Rhea Chakraborty’s Income Tax Return of 2017, 2018, and 2019 in which Rhea interestingly declared ₹ 18.75 lakhs and ₹ 18.23 lakhs as her income. These raises suspicious over her investments as the house she brought was of ₹ 40 lakhs. The ED is likely to re-grill her as they suspect some kind of foul play in her investments.
3. Sonia Gandhi has completed one year as the interim chief of the party and there has been a chorus from within the Congress to find a stable leadership.
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has said that Congress must expedite the process of finding a full-term president to arrest the public perception that the party is adrift and rudderless.
Shashi Tharoor also said that he certainly thinks Rahul Gandhi has the "mettle, capability and aptitude to once again lead the party", but if he does not wish to do so then the party must "take action" to elect a new chief.

A day after Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi alleged linguistic bias by a Central Industrial Security Force official at the Chennai airport; Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram released a comment supporting her saying ‘The unpleasant experience of DMK MP Kanimozhi at Chennai airport is not unusual.’ He further stated that he too has received taunts from government officials for not speaking fluent Hindi.
DMK MP Kanimozhi had faced discrimination by Chennai officials for not speaking in Hindi at airport. The leader later expressed her angst taking a poll on Twitter asking, ‘I would like to know from when being Indian is equal to knowing Hindi’.
5. Political protests were staged in the State of Karnataka after a statue of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj was removed from Belagvai district. A large number of Shivsena aides and activists thronged on road in order to revolt against the removal of the statue, however, these protests violated lockdown norms. No social distancing was maintained and the protestors were seen without wearing masks.
Minister in Aghadi Government has written to the Karnataka Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa over this issue. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Ashish Shelar claimed that a local Congress administrator was involved in the removal of the statue, which is why Sena members are protesting there.
