Roger Federer - Top 1000 Best Shots of his Career
Description
Approximately two and a half years ago I set out to make a video I had never done before and I’ll never make again. As a tribute to Roger Federer’s extraordinary career, filled not only with some of tennis’ most staggering achievements, but with sublime and sensational shotmaking as well, I created the video that you are now watching. I have always felt that a top 10, top 50 or even a top 100 (I’ve done that before) wasn’t enough to showcase the otherworldly variety, quality and quantity of Roger Federer’s book of great shots. He has basically written his own manual when it comes to entertaining the tennis crowds all across the globe. The late author David Wallace Foster even resembled Federer’s brilliance to a religious experience. This video is by no means a religious experience, but my desired hope is to shed – in my opinion – a much-needed light on Federer’s golden array of great shots. December 27th 2017, Federer retweeted the video on his Twitter account (see my latest community post if interested).
After the video getting blocked several times I almost gave up hope, but in the summer of 2019 I decided to replace 50 or so shots with some rare and new shots that I found to improve the video. In total it took 300+ hours to create it. The video is now up again, and hopefully it will stay that way! The day Federer retires, I'll make a final version of the video.
Please note that I only included official points from singles and doubles - you will find no exhibition points here.
