I wanted to review this because it's in my top 3 anime ALL TIME! If you're looking for a mature anime with no fan service, you've found it. I first watched it about 10 years ago and it's just as good every time i revisit it. You don't need to have seen the original Ruroni Kenshin anime to enjoy it.
