San Diego: 10-Year-Old Fires Shotgun at Police Officers 03052020

A 10-year-old male was acting out and grabbed a hammer and a knife and was threatening the family members. They called the Police. Officers arrived and the child ran out to a shed in the backyard where he produced a shotgun. The boys fired at the officers but they did not return fire. The officers retreated. The family and other neighbors were evacuated.
The child fired off a second shotgun round. After approx 1.5 hours, the child walked out of the shed and into the house. He then walked outside and surrendered peacefully. The boy was taken into custody and taken to a Hospital and then Child Protective Services. The Police will be investigating the incident and how the child was able to get his hands on the shotgun.
