SANTA FE NEW MEXICO 2020- Best Places to Go
Description
This was our first trip to santa fe new mexico. We gathered info from friends, family and locals to get the best things to do, best places to experience the culture and food. The artistic touches all around this town are amazing. We visited as many places as we could in 3 days and we have put together this video to show you the best places to visit in santa fe in 2020. Let this be your Santa Fe New Mexico Travel Guide.
The farmers market was a great place. There were lots of vendors from around the state selling fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheese, jams and jellies, breads and pastries, drinks and just about anything you can imagine. There was also live music and a cafeteria. Also, while you are there check out the Railyard District. The double decker passenger train, the Railrunner Express runs right next to the farmers market and will take you to various places around the city and state. The Railyard District is home to many art galleries, shopping and a delicious authentic southwestern restaurant called Tomasita's. They have excellent red and green chile and some of the best food I have ever had in the Southwest. Santa Fe is extremely dog friendly as well, so if you have your pooch with ya, bring em! BRING YOUR BIKES! This is a great place to cruise the town on your bike. Next, is Kakawa chocolate and coffee shop. We got a flight of chocolates, that range from plain to spicy to sweet. Add these to coffee, ice cream or a large selection of treats and you get your caffeine fix and sugar rush for the day.
We also hit up 3 places that are right next to each other. The oldest house in the United States, the oldest church structure in the United states (San Miguel Church 1610) and then Upper crust pizza (a pizza joint with a southwest twist). After our bellies were full we hit up lots of churches and architecture which are plentiful in Santa Fe. We went to Cathedral Basilica, The Loretto Chapel (home of the miraculous staircase) and then just cruising around the downtown area offered endless shopping, lots of vendors with jewelry, clothing, rugs and everything you could desire from the southwest region. Also, check out the plaza area. While downtown, in the evening the restaurant La Casa Sena (in the cantina section) there is a unique dining experience where you dine while the wait staff sings, plays music and entertains the guests.
We saved the best for last. MEOW WOLF is an "experience" that words or video can not do justice. This is a 33,000 square foot art installation that has contributions from 100's to 1,000's of artists. There is a mystery type story to be solved, all while enjoying some of the most amazing things my eyes have ever seen. I'm not going to give too much away, but prepare to be mentally exhausted and ready for more when you visit. It's a truly one of a kind experience that everyone can enjoy, even if you are not an art connoisseur.
