Description

Just some very basic and beat up Schindler elevators, from before they acquired ATLAS. These are located in the very back of the main municipal bus terminal in the city, which is also a low-end mall with cheap local stores and some lunch restaurants. There are 3 floors: the bus terminal on the bottom, the gallery on the ground and the parking on top. The only way for passengers to access their buses from the entrance at gallery level is by taking stairs. I have not fully explored the complex and hope that there is some way for the disabled to go down there. Aside from being a sketchy and run-down place packed with people (most of them not friendly), it is somewhat fun to explore. I didn't knew about these elevators being here, and it was only when I thought "There HAS to be an elevator in here!" was that I went down a hallway and found these. There isn't a single sign marking them, and not a lot of people going there, which is why it seemed like there were no elevators in here. And while there are, they are completely strange: 2 elevators on separate controllers: one is staff only and goes to the basement, and the one you see in the video, which is passenger and goes up to a parking level that I didn't even imagine existed here until going there! And that's also the reason I got confused about the floors, the labeling is all confusing and the indicator is dead. But in the end, was nice to discover and explore. ADVICE: Don't come in here if you're not taking a bus. The gallery and the areas surrounding it have some dangerous and weird people and I felt very unsafe when walking here. There is few police, I was on my own and looking around constantly while walking. Muggings are common. I only filmed these elevators because I could and after certifying that everything was safe.
About the elevators, they are basic, beat-up, dirty and scary, but that's what you expect from a place like a bus terminal. Nearly all indicators on both elevators are burnt out, buttons are worn and soft, but that's it. No major noises or stalls, quite efficient, and reliable. Not even a creaky cab! Impressive. Linha MS fixtures are also holding up well, even though not intended as vandal resistant, but sure doing better than FI GS/Linea 100 series which by now would have all their fancy glass parts shattered or broken. Interesting quirks are the mirrors on the sides and that they engraved the floor buttons. If you are feeling familiar about all those buttons on the lower portion of the COP, that's because this is some derivation of Schindler M-Series. The speaker near the indicator is a bit strange, as these fixtures do not have any chimes (that I know of). Also the lack of stickers tell me that it isn't Schindler that's doing maintenance here... even worse, there are NO stickers anywhere, a fact that is a bit unsettling.
There is also a single Schindler SWU escalator in the main entrance here, it's short and just takes passengers from the entrance to the gallery floor. It's the only I do ride often, and 1 of 4 locations I know in the entire country.
