Description

This is the first twenty-burger of Semi Ojeleye's two-and-a-half-year-long career. It's also the first time he's really gotten close to twenty points; his next-highest game was seventeen points at the end of last season when the Celtics put out a lineup whose best player was Terry Rozier by a mile. This game is a bit higher up in terms of the Celtics trying to play a real lineup to really try to win the game, but it still was missing most of their good players. That's why Ojeley got as much burn as he did.

I don't know about you guys, but I find it kind of worrying that Ojeleye's scoring ability seems practically nonexistent. Before this game, he was averaging seven points per 36 minutes. That's ridiculously low. That's low to the point that he could be contributing as much as Draymond Green does on defense and through playmaking, and it still wouldn't be worth it to give him minutes over a guy, ANY guy, who can put the orange ball through the ten-foot-tall orange ring. Out of players who have gotten at least 800 minutes this season, only Terrance Ferguson scores at a lower rate. Patrick McCaw is close.

Unless something changes with Ojeleye, I'm not seeing an NBA future for him. Celtics fans (the few of them who bother watching my videos when that Timi guy has Celtics videos ON LOCK) are welcome to refute me on this, and I'm happy to listen to them, but really, a non-scorer like Ojeleye would be better served playing in China where he could average 15 PPG. He'd be like Tiny Gallon 2.0 over there, and I'm pretty sure that's a compliment.
