Series 1 Chime Trick! | 80's OTIS Series 1 Hydraulic @ Capital Gateway, Wellington CBD

This elevator is one that I have ridden numerous times, but never properly filmed. I just discovered that you can do a Series 1 chime trick on these types of elevators — if you reopen the door mid-closing, the chime will resound. However, this will only work if the elevator has a confirmed direction of travel — so trying to activate the chime trick before pressing any buttons is unlikely to work, unless the elevator is on the top or bottom floor (and even then, sometimes it doesn’t work — see 3:15 for example). I did it multiple times without anybody asking what I was doing or complaining, surprisingly! This is a pretty standard OTIS S1 hydraulic install that everybody now knows has the ability to do this chime trick! It didn’t smell good in that elevator, though :\ The elevator in Freedom Furniture comes tomorrow!
