Shatangayur Sukta: Shatan (read as Shataan)= indicative of 100 forms or 100-faced, Gayur= Singing in praise, Sukta= Hymn. So overall means: A beautiful hymn in praise of 100-faced/100-forms of Maha-Kaal Bhairav (or Bhairav implicitly). Maha-Kaal Bhairav is the most fiercely, most aggressive, most destructive (in relation to anger, lust, greed, fear, ignorance, afflictions & anything evil) form of Lord Shiva. He is Mahadeva, the greatest of all Gods.

1. Om Hreem Shreem Hreem Hroom Hraim Hrah: All Powerful Beeja (or Seed) mantras.
2. Hana: Slaughtering evil/afflictions/pain, Daha: Burn and destroy (cleanse) enemies/injustice, Pacha: burn, make evident and bring to completion, Gruhaan: indicative of seizing & overpowering diseases/demons.
3. Maaraya: slaying or annihilating evil/negativities from anger, greed, lust. Mardaya: crushing enemies/evil/miseries.
4. Dhoonaya: indicative of agitated state with massive roar, Kampaya: indicative of causing to tremble/shake, Vighneya: indicative of breaker/destroyer of illusions/sins.
5. Shobhaya: indicative of shining, splendorous or burning brilliantly for auspicious results, Katu: indicative of Fierce, Mohaya: indicative of stupefying/astonishing.
6. Hoom Phatt Swaha: Generally means overcoming obstacles/evil and emerge victorious. Note: Hoom is a powerful Bija mantra, Phatt: indicative of cutting off (from problems/afflictions), Svaha implies well-said.
